Is Your Restaurant Something to Write Home About?
Literally! Hopefully you answered yes! Maybe it’s a unique ambiance or decor, maybe its live music, maybe it’s a unique recipe you have invented, or perhaps it is the most simple beautiful feature of any restaurant: the food is fresh and especially delicious.
The amount we love to take selfies and pictures of our food and post them all of the net is astonishing. Not to mention to amount we love to show off where we are at, or broadcast what we are doing. Facebook give sus the option to “check in” where we are. At the 02 listening to Beyoncé live? You a really going to want to check in. At a quirky café, or a Michelin start restaurant? Your friends definitely need to know that.
To put it bluntly, it’s all about increasing our social status. Although we will never admit that! The fact of the matter is, the average Facebook user spends 700 minutes on Facebook. What’s the likelihood that one of those minutes is in your restaurant? And would it help one of your diners social status if they checked in on their status at your restaurant? You have their 300 friends who view the name of your restaurant and where it is. You also have a picture of your food with the location and name with a description if you are lucky enough to be visited by a food blogger fanatic (oh- and the number of food bloggers is growing, didn’t you know!)
Make it obvious for your diners to show you off. A personal and natural recommendation goes along way and is a force to be reckoned with. That’s word of mouth marketing you can’t even buy- but if you could, I’d like to bet you’d pay a lot for it.
